| The Cause, The Lighthouse and The Artist The little English Schoolhouse is a nonprofit program created to teach English for free to the children of Puerto Morelos. In the beginning the school depended solely on donations. We have started a project in hopes that it will give the school a chance to generate a small income to help keep it going. We are crafting ceramic pet bowls featuring our landmark, and selling them. All the items are originally designed by the schools creator, our own Ms.Ana and Ricardo. 100% of the sales go back into the project. We hope to give the school a lasting chance by making it somewhat self-sufficient. Thank you for supporting Puerto Morelos. The leaning lighthouse (El Faro Inclinado), badly damaged by hurricane Beulah (Biula) in 1957 has become our local landmark and these ceramics provide you an opportunity to own a piece of local art and history. Ricardo Arias Alcantara is a local painter and ceramics Artist. He has won 2 first place awards for Best Artisan in Quintana Roo. |
