ViVa RESTAURANT REVIEWS -2
La Quinta de Morelos reviewed by Chef Pablo from the Little Mexican Cooking School April 2011
A story of two brothers who worked in the construction business and took over a restaurant to create their
own way to the delicacies of the ocean; a place that was nothing like what it looks today, it has been the
labour of love that the two brothers have put into get this place fixed to serve great food for the Locals and
the Foreign within walking distance from a beautiful beach.

We started with the specialty of the house, Coctel de Camaron (Shrimp cocktail) a mixed of baby shrimp,
tomato, cilantro, onion and lime juice that was refreshing and flavourful served with totopos and the salsa
habanera( charred chile habanero mashed with lime juice and salt) that is really spicy but delicious!

Next  we got the Filete de Pescado al Guajillo, the combination of the guajillo with caramelized onion and
garlic cooked together is sweet and to finish it a splash of lime to spark the flavours, served on top of a fish
filet a side of rice and some vegetables.
The fish was cooked nicely – moist and tender.  But the accompaniments left a lot to be desired.

The rice was mushy and overly salted and the vegetables were previously frozen and quite water logged.
In a place full of fresh produce – the frozen, water-logged vegetables seemed unnecessary and
unfortunate.  A simple green salad would have been a better choice.
The boys are going to offer more salads, which is good news.We do recommend you try them out, they are
very willing to please their customers.
